Football Prospects Bright For Our High School.

A football meeting was held Monday evening at 4 o’clock at the school house, Principal Bradshaw presiding. Indications are that there will be sixteen or eighteen candidates out and that the team will be as heavy or heavier than last year. There is a better prospect too than there was at the outset of last year, although several of last year’s team will be missing. Fay Clark was elected temporary captain, as Captain Leonard Elder, who was elected after last year’s season closed, is not sure of re-enter-ing school, having some prospects of going to Franklin college. Practice will begin today, and an effort will be made to have the team in fine condition before a game is undertaken. Oakwood, of Lafayette, McKinley and other high schools have already written for games and there will be no trouble in completing a good schedule. Monticello exnects-tn. have a team this year, which will be the first that high school has had for several years.
