The Jasper county teachers’ institute will be held this week in the Presbyterian church and the city is entertaining about all the teachers of the county. Superintendent Lamfeon has arranged quite an excellent program of work with some able instructors. The first session was held this Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock and the daily sessions hereafter will be at 9 in t|ie morning and 1:30 in the afternoon. There will also be a session Tuesday evening at 7:30, a lecture Wednesday evening and the band concert Thursday evening by the Mohticello Boys’ band of 25 pieces. The instructors are, G. M. Wilson, superintendent of the Connersville schools, who has the subject of general pedagogy. Dr. Fred Mutchler, of the Kentucky normal school, of Bowling Green, will instruct in nature studies and agricultural, and Superintendent Hanson, of the Williamsport schools, will have charge of the music. On Wednesday night Dr. Hoyt, of Michigan University, who is employed as one of the teachers at the Newton county institute, will come here to deliver a lecture and one'* of the teachers from here will go to Goodland to deliver a lecture there. The program arranged will keep the teachers busy and should be very profitable to them.
