Dave McConnahay and family went to Idaville, White county, today, to spend a few days visiting his father and other. relatives.
Mrs. S. L. Ensminger, of Crawfordsville, came yesterday to visit her«sister, Mrs. Matie Hopkins, and her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Hollingsworth, at the home of the latter.
Word has been received here that Ralston, the little son of Dr. and Mrs. A. J. Miller, who removed from Rensselaer to Mecca, Ind., a few months ago, is not expected to live. The particulars of his sickness have not been received.
Misses Ella and Gertrude Welsh, who have been visiting their brothers, Louis and Ben Welsh, left today for the state of Washington, where each is engaged as school teachers, the former at Blaine and the latter at Aberdeen. 4 s . 1
J. A. McFarland arrived home yesterday jfrom a ten days’ trip, which started with the Oxford ball game, followed by a short stay at the Hunter Springs, and which concluded with a visit in Park county, near his brother and brother-in-law, and old neighbors and friends.
A post card from Druggist B. F. Fendig, who, with his wife and Mr. and Mrs. Hale Warner, are visiting the Seattle exposition, states that he and Mrs. Fendig called on Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Berkley, at Portland, Ore., a few. days since. T. J. McCoy, father of Mrs. Berkley, was visiting them at the time.
A state convention of the Beta Phi Sigma fraternity begins a three days’ session .today at Wabash, andis being attended by delegates and others from all parts of the state. Ray and Lloyd Parks, Livingston Ross, Gaylord McFarland, Emmet Laßue and Ellis, of the local chapter, left on the 10:55 train to attend the convention.
