Checker Expert to Visit Rensselaer September Fourth.

J. A. McFarland, dean of the local checker players, has arranged with John T. Denvir, of Chicago, to visit Rensselaer on Saturday evening, September 4th, and to remain over Sunday. Mr. Denvir is a well known checker expert, and the author of a number of checker text books. His visit here will attract a great deal of attention and it is quite probable that checker players from other towns will come here to see and play with the expert. He will play as many as care to meet him, all at the same time. All that is necessary is that the players bring along a board and a set of checkers.
