Experts Are Examining the Newton County Records.

Kentland Enterprise An examination of the book? and public reconds at the court house is being made by Wallace & Sutten, of Indianapolis. Mr. Wallace began work Monday and Mr. Sutten is expected today. Their contract with the Board of Commissioners calls for the complete examination of all public records in the offices of the auditor, treasurer, clerk, recorder and sheriff, and to cover the six year period from January 1, 1903, to January 1, 1909. The compensation is to be $lO a day for each accountant. Mr. Wallace in conversation with a representative of the Enterprise stated that no information concerning the examination would be given out either privately or for publication before their final report was made to the Board of Commissioners. They expect to complete the work in from two to three months, but the time required will depend largely on the condition of the records. It is impossible to forsee what knotty problems they may run into. The examination of the records of White county, which they have Just completed, required four months. The report of that county has not yet been made public, but Mr. Wallace indicated that there would be nothing of a very sensational nature in their report.
