SENSATIONAL DIVORCE CASE FROM WHEATFIELD.
Mrs. John P. Swisher Alleges Cruel Treatment, Failure to Provide, Etc., As Grounds For Divorce. A sensational divorce case has Just been filed in the circuit court from Wheatfleld township. Sarah Elizabeth Swisher wants her freedom from John P. Swisher. They were married April 19, 1905, and lived together until Tuesday of this week. She charges her husband with cruel and inhuman treatment, failure to provide, drunkenness, associating with other women, and other things. She left him two other times before this, but upon his promise to do better, she returned, when she alleges he each time resumed' his bad treatment of her.
Tuesday she left her husband and with their two children, Ada Lucile, aged 3, and Flossie Mandethal, aged 16 months, started for her father’s home in Hangfng Grove township. Her husband, overtook her at Kersey, where she alleges he cursed and struck, her in the presence of others and took the oldest child from her and that he still has the child.
Mrs. Swisher asks the court to give her a divorce and the custody of the two children. Her parents, she says, are willing to give her a home and care for the children.
