EYERETT MEBBILL GOT TOO LOVING AT THE PRINCESS.
Was Hugging Jane Beesey and the Officers Took a Hand—Fined For Drunkenness. Everett Merrill, of near Fair Oaks, who was arrested by Chicago police about a year ago charged with complicity In the kidnapping of little Lillian Wolfe, of Chicago, and escaped a death or life imprisonment sentence through the efforts of Attorney Halleck, is again in the lime light. He has been associating with Mrs. Jane Gray, better known as Jane BeCsey, for some days. Monday evening he appeared on the street in her company in an intoxicated condition and created considerable amusement by their loving attitude. They managed to gain access to the Princess theater during the rush for the first performance. They grew affectionate as soon as they took their seats, Merrill putting his arm around Miss Beesey. As soon as the lights were turned down he commenced hugging her, and about this time Officers Parks and Thomas appeared and forcibly napaoved Merrill, who ejected to the proceedings. He wasVtaken to jail and Tuesday morning entered a plea of guilty to the charge of intoxication, before Squire Irvin, and was fined $1 and costs, |6.20 in all, which he paid and was released.
