New Cases Filed.

John Putt vs. Catherine E. McKenzie et al, suit to quiet title. Nancy A. Carr vs. Elanor M. Medworth et al. Suit in partition. Harvey L. Moore and Simon S. Hockstettler vs. Henry B. Butler et al. To foreclose lien. Petition of Francis W. Powers et al for public drain in Jasper, Porter, LaPorte and Starke counties. A few years ago the citizens of Rensselaer donated SI,OOO or $1,500 to help purchase the old Milroy homestead across the river for a park, the city paying the balance. The park has been allowed to grow up in weeds and is a disgrace to the city. The people living across the riyqr should insist upon the council keeping the park in a presentable appearance. And this reminds us that there are many other spots in town that need looking after. There are sidewalks not two blocks from the court bouse that are so overgrown with weeds that two persons cannot walk abreast without coming In contact with the weeds. The secretary of the treasury has sent a check for $13,000 to the district attorney at Indianapolis to pay J. H. W. Meyer for the site for the public building at Laporte.
