Monticello Telephone Company To Increase Its Rates.

The town council of Monticello has passed an ordinance granting the right to the Monticello Telephone Co. to increase its phone rate to |1.50 per month for ■ residence and 12.50 per month for business phones. The company engages to install a central energy or common battery system with all the necessary storage batteries, power plant, electric generator and a complete cable system both aerial and underground. It must also keep the efficiency of the service up to a standard set by the town board or the rates will revert to the present figures.
