Brook Company May Decide Not To Manufacture Automobiles.
The stock company which was organized at Brook for the purpose of manufacturing automobiles, may change their plans and manufacture the Parkinson transmission gear exclusively. The company has become alarmed at the announcement of the Studebaker’s that they will place a 20-horse power four cylinder five passenger car on the market for $750. The Studebakers have purchased several of the largest factories in the country and combined these with their own large factory and have intaslled special machines for the manufacture of 25,000 of these $750 machines at once. The people have confidence in the Sutdebakers and the announcement of their plans has caused consternation among other manufacturers. The Brook company has doubts- whether it can compete with a, company producing a car at this price. It now looks as if the day of cheap automobiles was approaching.
