Mrs. Elza Grow visited relatives Tuesday. Mrs. Moore went to Rensselaer on business Monday. Mrs. Tom Mallatt has been very sick for a few days. John Litner has been on the sick list for a few days. Garrett Evers had a horse killed by the train this week. Ed Lakin went as teamster for the Rippel’s show for awhile. Mrs. Newt Waterman, of Chicago, TF visiting F. R. Ervin and family. Mrs. Edith Johnson, of Ripley, is visiting her sister, Mrs. John Zellers. Mrs. Lee Kesler went to Winamac to attend the funeral of a friend Saturday. The first blackberries from the nursery were brought Into town Tuesday. Mrs. Milt Gundy and Miss Lyda Larson are visiting _their mother in Knox. Sam Kight, of Lake Village, spent Tuesday night with his brother, Isaac, here. Miss Fanny Nelson, of Brookston, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Cottingham, for a few days. Miss Nancy Kissick, who bpd erecipelas on her face for some time, is able to be out again. Mrs. Ella Lemon, of Chicago, has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Eggleston, for a few days. Mrs. Mattie Dickinson and Hazel Norman, of Rensselaer, visited with John Casey’s over Sunday. N. A. McKay and Ed Kessler are repairing the elevator preparatory to taking care of the oats crop. Two pictures men, a medicine man and a junk man have been canvassing the town for the past few days. About thirty citizens left town and went to the river. All came back sober and reported a good time. Mrs. Chas. Barker and children, Miss Cora Trump and brother went to Cotes, Ind., on a visit Tuesday. Preaching at the M. E. churcli Saturday night. Sunday school at two and league at half past seven Sunday. A crowd of our band boys went to Parr Tuesday night to see ho* the band boys of Parr were progressing. A new wind mill has been put up at the pickle factory. Pickles in small quantities are coming in from all directions. Chas. Brouhard is said to have blood poison in his arm, and has been going to Roselawn to see the doctor every day this week.
