WRENS CONTINUE THEIR WINNING STREAK SUNDAY.

Take Tliefr Sixth Straight Game— Score, Wrens 5; Sheldon 1— Best Game of the Season. \ By defeating the fast Sheldon team Sunday the Wrens made ft six straight victories. They excelled in the field as well as at the bat. They pounded out 5 hits to Sheldon’s 4 and made only four errors while Sheldon either booted or threw wild 9 times. There was little spectacular playing done and that was by the Wrens. Running catches by Kepner and Moss were the most sensational plays while the good steady playing of Parcells at second and McLain behind the bat were features. The Wrens tallied once in the initial frame. Kevin was out, Renner to Freeman, and Moss’ fly was gobbled by Littrell, who was in right. Renner, Sheldon’s pill hurler, then passed “Red” Bolin, who needlessly stole second because Parcells was also given a walk. They both moved up a peg on a passed ball by Groover. Renner then threw wild to Nosker to catch Bolin and “Red” walked home. McLain, next up, walloped a hot one at Freeman, but the first baseman handled it nicely. There was nothing doing then until the third when the birds counted twice. Hanks was passed, stole second, and took 3rd on a passed ball, while Kevin hit the atmosphere three times. Moss, next up, rapped out a nice double to left and scored Hanks. Moss went to 3rd on a passed ball. Bolin i walked, and the former scored on a boneheaded play by Gilson, who threw Parcells out at first instead of cutting Moss off at the plate. McLain struck out and that ended the third.

No more scoring occurred until the seventh, when the Wrens pushed two more over the plate. Parks was out via Littrell and Freeman, but Hanks singled to right. Kevin followed with a single to left which placed Hanks on 3rd. Kevin immediately stole 2nd. Moss hit to Littrel, who threw wild to Freeman and let Hanks in and Kevin scored on the throw home. Littrell caught Moss at the plate and Bolin flew out to C. Greeman. That ended the Wrens’ scoring. Sheldon got one in the eighth thusly. Staten popped out to Parcells but Nasken was safe on Kepner’s muff of his fly. Parks then duplicated Kepner’s stunt with Gilson’s fly. Nosken going to 3rd and Gilson To 2nd. Grbovet was safe on a fielder’s choice and the bases were full. Hanks hit Freeman and forced in Nosken. Renner then hit to Hanks, who retired Gilson at the plate. Littrell popped a foul back near the grandstand but McLain was there with the big mit. Hanks struck Sheldon out one, two, three in the ninth and the game was over. There was quite a large crowd out and the Wrens deserve that kind of support from the fans every game, for they are certainly playing classy ball. Lowell will probably be the visitors next Sunday and everyone should be there as it will be the best game
