Five Year Old Boy Accidentally Shoots Brother.
A very sad accident occurred Tuesday noon at the home of Kinder Kennedy, about six miles southwest of here. His two little boys, Leo, aged 8, and Clare, aged 5, were playing around the well house in which stood a loaded shot gun. It was an uncommon thing for the gun to be left loaded. Clare picked up the gun and pointing it at Leo exclaimed, “Look out, I am going to shoot you.” He pulled the trigger and the load entered Leo’s side, badly tearing one hand which he had on his hip. The mother was in the house and hearing the report hurried out and saw what had happened. She carried her son into the house and inimediately summoned a doctor. The little fellow was in great pain for several hours but at the time of going to press he was resting easy and it was thought that he would recover. This is the third accident of a similar nature that has occurred in that vicinity within the past six or seven years, both of the other ending fatally.—Mt. Ayr Pilot.
