How the Fourth Was Observed Here and Elswhere.
The Fourth" coming on Sunday this year gave many a chance to celebrate three days.
In Rensselaer the day was hot celebrated, but many of our citizens went elsewhere to observe the day. Parr and Fair Oaks celebrated Saturday. Both report good times. Remington and Wheatfield celebrated today, Monday. The banks and post office were closed here Monday, this day being considered a legal holiday all over the country, A number went from here to Ade Saturday, where George Ade gave a celebration on his farm. It was pronounced one of the most enjoyable celebrations ever held in this part of the state. Ade furnished all the amusements at his own expense. Prizes were given for various contests. The display of fireworks was extra fine. Mr. Ade has just completed a fine '•wimming pool, which furnished much enjoyment to those who love this sport. Today, Monday, has been cold, with a drizzling rain, which has spoiled the celebrations to a large extent in those towns which selected today as a day for the celebration.
