Commercial Club Considering Another Factory Proposition.
H. Deam, of the Chicago Industrial company, accompanied A. Pizarro, a member of -the Pizarro-Kinderman Piano Co., of Chicago, here last evening.
, The piano company is seeking a location in the country. They manufacture pianos and player pianos and have an established business.
Their proposition, which will be submitted in writing, provides for the employment of 50 hands at the begining. They will ask for a bonus of $15,000 and four acres of ground. They will erect a two-story brick building 60x150 feet, steam heated. The building must be completed by September Ist. The title to the building and machinery will remain in the Commercial Club until the company has paid out in wages $200,000.
Of the cash bonus one-fourth will be payable at the beginning of the work on the building; one-fourth when foundation is laid; one-fourth when roof is on and the last fourth after the factory has been in operation thirty days. This proposition will be investigated by the Commercial Club and if it looks all right the proposition will be laid before the lot purchasers for their action.
Investigation was made of the washing powder concern and things were not found as represented, so the matter has been allowed to drop.
