Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Chupp wish to express their sincere thanks for the kindness and sympathy shown them by their many friends and kind neighbors in the sad death of their only darling and beloved son, Simon Edward. The trial of John B. Scott, a saloon keeper who shot and killed Walter Thornton in his saloon in Fort Wayne has begun in Columbia City, after a change of venue. The jury was selected late Monday afternoon. Prosecuting Attorney Thomas is being assisted by Wier Carver, prosecuting attorney of Whitley county, assisted by Frank and W. F. McNagney, former law partners of Governor Marshall.
