WHAT OTHER'S SAY.
The most valuable function of the editorial column of the country daily, however, is to watch the interests of the community in which it is printed. Turn the limelight of publicity on things that are not as they should be and help change them. Never be afraid to “speak out in meeting.” Take sides and take sides so no body will fail to know where you stand. Those who differ with you .will like your habit of speaking out. Take sides on the “wet” and “dry” question and fight to the last ditch, whichever side you are on. It never pays to “straddle” and besides, it cannot be done. —E. M. Watson in American Press.
