Rhoades-Dunnlng Wedding a Brilliant Affair.
A society event of interest to the Joliet friends of the Dunning family of Blue Island, formerly of this city, occurred last evening when Miss Irene Dunning, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Dunning, became the bride of Albert C. Rhoades, of Blue Island. * 9? Eight o’clock saw the celebrating of this wedding, a simple little affair, solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents with a company of one hundred relatives and friends acting as witnesses. The attendants were Mrs. Fred Massey, of Albany, N. Y., a sister of the bride, as matron of honor, and Maurice Morstrom of Blue Island, as groomsman. The bridal gown was of soft, white satin elaborately hand embroidered and ornamented with point lace. The matron of honor wore a robe of Irish crochet over white messaline and carried lillies of the valley. Green and white were the prevail* ing colors of the evening suggesting which were quantities of Marguerites, syringas and an assortment of potted greenery. Mr. and Mrs. Rhoades will make their home in Blue Island, where the groom is the local representative of the Chicago Telephone company. A. C. Dillman and son, Milo, and Mr. and Mrs. A. H. White of this city were included among the guests from away. The ceremony of last evening came as a climax to a round of ante-wed-ding affairs arranged in honor of the bride who spent the days of early girlhood in Joliet. One of the prettiest affairs of the pre-nuptial calendar was given in this city with Mrs. A. C. Dillman, Eastern avenue, as hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Rhoades will be at home after October first—Joliet Evening Herald.
