Autos Damaged In Going to the Lake County Races.
Dr. Turfler was going “to the auto races Friday morning and when on the road west of DeMotte the back axle broke and he pulled to the side of the road. George Terwilliger was following in his machine and stopped to see what was the matter, and while his machine was standing still near Turfler’s Frank Leek came along and bumped into Terwilliger’s machine. ■The radiator was broken from Leek’s machine and he borrowed the radiator from Turfler’s machine and Leek and Terwilliger went on to the races under their own pouter. Billy Babcock also had his new E. M. F. machine dainaged. Scott Chestnut, his driver, was coming from the racing grounds and came in contact with a tree, damaging the rear of the machine. Shestnift was sent to Detroit with the machine, where it will be repaired'at,the factory.
