Bready attended the annual commencemenjt of Butler University at Indianapolis this week. He made the trip in his automobile, making the •run in seven hours. Thomas A. Robinson, of Moutieello. and his daughter, Mrs. Blanche Barrow, of Des Moines, lowaf who have been the guests of John Murray and family, returned home yesterday. J. F. Bruner has disposed of his interest in the stock of general mer-' chandise at Valparaiso to his partner, M. M. Tyler. He is now at home and will devote his time to his telephone business. Tom McGowan was in from Union township today. He reports the loss of two colts by lightning last week. Edward Elite also lost a colt at the same time and Ed Ritter lost a steer in the same storm. The G. L. C. Girls were entertained last Friday night by Georgia and Merriel Harris. The club gave a spread last Wednesday evening in honor of Miss Frances Newport, who is visiting Miss Mary Adams. The next meeting will be with Miss Hayes Gwln. A. A. Brown, of Knlman, was here today on the way home from IndianajpMls, where he had been sitting on the federal Jury. He was one of the jurors who found Wm. Guss, a former Rensselaer boy, guilty of using the malls to defraud. Hb helped to try five cases during the five days he was on the .Jury. Another non-intoxicating drink, or at least a preparation alleged to have less than the amount of alcohl that is forbidden, is advertised for sale now. It is “Homo” temperance beer, and Is manufactured by the Indianapolis Brewing company. It is an exhilarating drink and said to be entirely within the requirements of die law.
