LITTLE CHILD INSTANTLY KILLED BY MONON TRAIN.

Child Is Struck By Train While Playing on Track Near Grandfather’s Home. The three year old eon of Daniel (Jrapp, who lives near Surrey, was Iristantly killed by the north bound Htmon train Thursday, which passes here about three o’clock in the afternoon. The Chupps live about a half mile from Simon Chupps, the boy’s grandfather. With his mother he bad gone to visit his grapdparentß and had started to follow his grandfather to a field nearby. The child stopped on the railroad crossing just north of Surrey and his grandfather went on to a field near by where his son was wor’klng. The child had evidently either sat down on the track to play or had got his foot caught to the cattle guard. No one was in sight when the train struck him and the engineer noticed him too late to stop the train. The body was thrown about four rods into the* ditch at the side of the tradk, One hand was cut off, the skull crushed to and the body was otherwise mutilated. The train 'backed up and the train hands picked up the body before the frenzied mother and other relatives arrived. The burial took place in Newton county Saturday.
