Summer Amusements Now In Full Blast In Chicago.
Summer Gardens are now the main attraction irf Chicago, of course. "Keegan’s Pal” at the Chicago Opera House; The Blue Mouse and The Anrerican Music Hall which is virtually a "Summer Garden, is still drawing crowded houses. The Bismarch Garden has this year outshone its former beauty and attractiveness by an enormous outlay for improvements, and in addition to Ballman’s Band, which is conceded to be one of the best organizations ever assembled, The Ranier troupe oi Tyrolean singers and dancers fill in during the regular intermissions making a continuous performance from 6:30 till 12:00. The restaurant service under Max Eitel and Paul Hausen is very much improved in every sense, and the 50c reserved seat of last year has been wisely abolished and 25c now admits you to any part of the Garden. “The Blue Mouse” is now in its fourth week at The Garrick and is gaining in popularity all the time. It is a bright engaging farce that appeals to all classes; full of witty lines with ludicrous situations and most amusing complications. There was some talk of the police stopping the show unless modified in some particulars, but matters have evidently been arranged to suit the local authorities and Mabel Barrison continues to play havoc with the sportive railway president and other male flirts. “Keegan’s Pal” with Emmet Corrigan *at The Chicago opera house is turning them away every night and judging by the opinions of critics, Corrigan has at last found a winner in Paul Wilstach’B clever play, and one that seems to hold and impress the audience with its strong lines and Corrigan’s masterly interpretation of the leading rdle. The White City, Forest Park, Riverview and Luna Park are all running full blast with new attractions.
