Obituary.
Joseph *S. Williams was born October 1, 1851, departed this life June 14, 1909, at 2 p. m., aged 57 years, 8 months and 13 days. He was born in Barkley township, Jasper county, Ind., at which place he lived and died, living and dying on the old homestead. He was married to Mahala A. Adair in 1876, April 30th. To this union was born nine children, four girls and five boys. Laura and two infants, with one grandchild died before their father; Willie, Bertha, Ray, Floyd, Floy, Lillia, Wilber and their mother and many relatives and friends survive to mourn his departure. But they mourn not as one that has no hope, for they hope to meet him again. He united with the U. B. church in the year 1869, being a member of said church 40 years. He departed this life with a hope of that better land. As he expressed himself, "I am going home”. He was a kind husband, and an affectionate father and a good neighbor and r citizen. The funeral was held at the Brushwood U. B. church, Wednesday at 10 a. m. Interment took place at the Prater cemetery. Rev. C. O. Sherrill, of Bellmore, officiated.
