Mrs. George Ott is on the sick list at this writing. Frank Shroer called on Charley Pullins Tuesday. Jim Stanley spent Saturday night with S. Holmes. Harry and Alma Hellengreen were Rensselaer goers Tuesday. Mrs. A. Gangloff was out to see her tenant, C. Morgenegg, Friday. Carl Gorbit spent Saturday night with Elmer and Walter Brown. Dan and Stella attended the Thursday evening exercises at Rensselaer. Elias Arnold and Dan Lesh went to Kankakee Thursday on a fishing trip. Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Holmes and daughter, Ethel, were in Rensselaer Tuesday. T. G. Brown and Elmer and Frank went to the Iroquois river Tuesday fishing. Charley Arnold is caring his wheat this week. He sold for $1.40 per bushel.
Mrs. George McElfresh visited with Mr. and Mrs. Chris. Morgenegg and family Sunday. The tail end of Barnum’s show went through our town Saturday evening. The ball game between Della and Possom Run Sunday was a failure, as Della didn't show up. Spencer and Ethel Holmes went fishing Friday and came back loaded down with nothing. Spencer said he caught a snake. , Miss Lucy Morgenegg returned home Tuesday with her mother and sister from Rensselaer, -where she has been staying for the past week. Charles Greenlee and Mrs. Rutt, his housekeeper, and Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Wasßon and daughters, Lesta and Chloe, and three little chilren visited with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Holmes and family Sunday. ‘
The Eighth Annual Picnic of “The Benton Hoosiers’’ will be held on Saturday, June 19, 1909, at 1 p. m. in Washington Park near Refectory building, 66th street and South Park Ave., Chicago. Business meeting at 4:30 and dinner at 5 o’clock. All hoosiers are invited and requested to Invite those they may know. Home folks are especially Invited.
