Lowell Appoints 25 Extra Police.
The city of Lowell will be properly policed on the occasion of the auto races on jthe 18th and 19th if the dictum of the town hoard amounts to anything. At the regular meeting of the town board of Lowell Monday night a special election was called for June 28th, to elect a trustee for ward th*ee, which was made vacant by the death of Hugo Carsten. At the same meeting Marshal Belshaw was instructed to employ extra policemen to patrol the town during the automobile races
Marshal Belshaw thinks ten policemen will be enough through the day and fifteen will handle it all right during the night. All the merchants will employ private policemen to look after their business places.
