Misses Florence and' Hazel Moore returned to work this Monday morning at the telephone central office, and Miss Eva Clark, who has had long experience in central office work took charge of the office last Saturday, The company Intends do all in its power to give good service to its subscribers and with the recon-, struction of the country lines which are being double wired for metallic circuit service, they expect to have the system on a basis that will be above very much criticism. The company officers are aware that for some time the service has been very poor and they have taken steps to overcome the objections, believing that much of it was in the central office. A car load of poles arrived Monday%morning for the construction of the new copper circuit between here and Chicago and placing additional wires between here and Remington. One hundred and six miles of copper wire also arrived. Between here and Remington the polos will be 42 to the mile, large poles with 7 inch tops, and in addition to the two lines maintained by the local company the Central Union will have three copper circuit lines. In all about $12,000 will be spent by the Central Union in its improvements and Rensselaer will be a switching point between all small towns in this neighborhood and Chicago.
