A fountain pen makes a nice present—Clarke handles, the Parker and the Waterman. M. O. Callahan and wife, who formerly conducted the Pheasant Grove store, are now living in Rensselaer, and occupying the Kelley property at the corner of Weston and Rutsen streets. They are spending today at Kersey. Riley Snyder returned yesterday from Hardman, Oregon, where he has been for the past year or more. He will remain here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Snyder, and work with his brother Jesse at the carpenter trade. ✓ Rev. H. M. Middleton and wife arrived in Rensselaer this morning and will visit friends here a few days before going to Hammond, where they will remain for some time with their daughter. They have beeen visiting at Linden and Romney since their return from Florida. . / Rev. G. H. Clarke has returned from Hun.tington where he was on the program of speakers at the meeting of the Northern Indiana Ministerial Association. While there he saw Joe Jeffries and says that Joe is getting along splendidly in a business way and Is well pleased with his move and with the town. Prof. Gray, for three years the principal of the Rensselaer schdSls, is also at Huntington and was seen by Rev. Clarke. He likes Huntington and his sdfaool work there and has been engaged for another year. Huntington is a very beauM*ul 'city of some 10,000 population and lias voted "dry."
