Two More Counties Toted Against the Saloons Monday—White Rolls Up Big Majority. . Monticello and White county Joined the long list of “dry” counties Monday, casting a much greater temperance majority than many had figured. Only one precinct in the county gave a “wet” majority, and that was one precinct in Honey Creek township, where the town of Reynolds is situated. Its majority was 9,' while the other precinct in that township gave a “dry” majority of 7, leaving the township with a majority of 2 in favor of the saloons. The county majority as figured Monday night was 1,441. One precinct in Monticello gave a majority of 244 for prohibition, and Princeton township, where the town of Wolcott is situated, gave a dry majority of 183. The “dry” vote was 69 per cent of the total vote, being greater than two-thirds. Practically 77 per cent of the votes of Monon township were “dry.” Jackson county went “dry” by a majority of 371. The city of Seymour gave a majority in favor of saloons. Twenty-five saloons in the county will be forced out of business.
