He found that city in a great turmoil over the option election. * Tuesday night speeches were being made on* the street corners and all over the city. Both the “wets” and the “dries” had imported talent and practically every citizen was keyed up to a high pitch of enthusiasm. Lafayette newspapers have been carrying page advertisements purporting to show the dire results of prohibition on the business of the towns already gone "dry” and temperance advocates have been writing that the advertisements are false and that they are worded by irresponsible persons who seek to deceive the .voters.
