Novel Plan to Stop f Automobile Scorching, The city of Hammond has been having considerable trouble with motor cyclists and automobilists exceeding the speed limit, especially on Calumet avenue, and pedestrains have been in constant danger. Now the officers think they have a plan that will stop the speeding. The city firemen are to ije stationed at points along the avenue with a three inch hose and a fire nozzle and when some scorcher comes along the water Is to be turned on full tilt and right into the faces of the scorchers.
