Prof. S. E. Sparling To Judge Several Debates.

Prof. Samuel E. Sparling has not settled down to farming and stock raising to the exclusion of everything else, and he has beeh showered recently with appeals from various sources to deliver addresses, act as a judge at debating contests, and so urgent have been the requests that he has accepted several. One of these is to deliver an address before the Racine, Wls., Women's Club, on which occasion his subject Will relate to the good government problem. The exact date for this address has not been set. On April 30th at Beloit, Wls., he will act as a judge at a debate between students of Beloit College and Carleton College, of Minnesota and near the same date he will act as a judge of a debate between the Freeport, 111., and Dubuque, lowa, high schools, which will be held at Freeport. , The Milwaukee Merchants Association will give a banquet in honor of the German Ambassador to that city, and Prof. Sparling has been invited as a guest of honor to meet the Ambassador and listen to his address. His services as a judge of debates is in quite general demand, and he will probably accept other invitations to act in that capacity before the close of the college year.
