Women Have a Fight In Roselawn Street.
Mrs. Reuben Gundy was struck with a club and quite badly Injured at Roselawn Saturday night at about 8 o’clock, and her assailant is said to be Mrs. Delpha Steel, who is said to have been assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Nebitt, while Mrs. Fred Fuller, the wife of the section foreman at that place, also had some hand in the affray. From what can be learned Mrs. Steel and her daughter allege that Gundy had been circulating stories of a derogatory nature against them. So, armed with a big stick, which witnesses say was about the size of one's wrist, they went up. town and when Mrs. Gundy came along Mrs. Nebltt held her while Mrs. Steel struck her violently with the club, inflicting injuries that for a time seemed likely to result fatally. Mrs. Fuller was with Mrs. Steel and her daughter, but it is claimed that she tried to act as a peace maker. Mrs. Steel, Mrs. Nebltt and Mrs. Fuller were all placed under arrest, and Senator A Halleck went to Roselawn to represent the state, while Attorney E. P. Honan went there to represent the defendant*. The trial was held Sunday afternoon before Squire Wells, of Lake township, who transferred his court room to Roselawn, In Lincoln township, to hold the trial. He listened to the evidence and then bound Mrs. Steel and her daughter over to the drCdlt court In the sum of 1100 each, ’and released 'Mrfc Fuller, Ur. Klee signed the bail-bond.
