The First Fish Story Comes From Hammond.

The following appeared in the Indianapolis News under a - Hammond date line. It is approaching the season of fish story tales. Richard Much, Charles Carlson, three fishermen, fought desperately for twelve hours last night for life three miles north of Clark Station in Lake Michigan, and hung to the icy bottom of an overturned sailboat until just before lapsing into unconsciousness -they were rescued by a passing tug. The men owe their desperate predicament to their fight with a monster sturgeon, which, as they were about to draw it aboard, capsized the craft and threw them all into the water. Their efforts to attract attention from the shore were unavailing. When rescued the men were in a pitiful condition, and were taken to Mercy hospital.
