D. Et Fairchild went to Chicago Monday. Mra.Ora Barce went to Rensselaer Monday. Hitman Holtrop is laid up with a lame back. There is a good opening here for * good milliner. John Stell, our shoemaker, has gone out of business. C. D. Shook has purchased a fine horse from G. W. Gore. Postmaster Wells visited in Chicago from Friday until Sunday. ,| - F. M. Hart consulted a specialist at Marion, Ind., last week. The third quarterly meeting will be held at Tefft Friday, April l«th. Leslie Sayers of Valparaiso paid * week end visit to his parents here. ‘ Mrs. Zimmerman returned Wednesday from a visit to her sister at Englewood. •*’ Postmaster Wells now has quite a nobby line of sweet goods, cigars and tobacco. Frank Hart and J. D. Alexander were business visitors at Wheatfield Tuesday. , Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Grube and children visited at the home of Geo. Watson Sunday. Attorney Barr and Mrs. Barr returned to the city Wednesday after a visit to their farm north of town. Lena Lokotzskl, who has been at home taking care of her mother, is now back at her old place at the hotel. Mrs. Gertrude Miller from Illinois spent Easter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Schuster, south of town. Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Wells accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Fairchild to a hospital in Chicago Monday with their son Carl for an operation. Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Shook and children, G. W. Gore, Mrs. Cora Zimmerman, Earl Wicks and Mrs. Ora Barce were guests at the Troxell House Sunday. Mr. Bush was not there. A pleasant surprise party was given at the home of Agent Curtin Thursday evening, April Bth. The occasion was the birthdays of Mrs. Curtin and her son Merle. Only relatives were present. The dredge is now at a standstill, waiting for the action of the railroad company in removing the bridge to let them through.
