Gov. Marshall To Be Here When Corner Stone Is Laid.

The laying of the cornerstone for the fine new church at St Joseph’s College will not take place as early as was first expected, and will probably not be laid until the first of May, but the ceremonies that will surround the event will be very elaborate and -•v* V’ . ■ extensive preparations are being made. Gov. Thos. R. Marshall has already accepted an Invitation to deliver an address on that occasion. Senator Albert J. Beveridge has also been asked to be present and deliver an address, but he has not yet accepted. Several Bishops high in the council of the Catholic church will be present, among them Bishop Alerding, of Fort Wayne; Bishop Donohue, of Indianapolis, and Bishop Kouledka, of Cleveland, Ohio. The exact date of the event will probably be announced within a few days, and it will be extensively advertised and many people from other cities will be here. It will be good news to many of Governor Marshall's friends in this copnty to learn that he is to speak in this county and a largq audience will be certain to greet him on the occasion of the corner stone laying.
