They Removed Their Hats.

Rev. Charles E. Jefferson, of the Broadway tabernacle, New York, believes that women should remove-their hats in church. He tried every way possible until he sprang a scheme which worked admirably. He informed them Sunday morning that he had been told that the reason the ladies declined to remove their hats in church was because if they did remove them their false hair would become dislodged. There was silence for half a minute and then one lady, with rather a resentful look on her face, removed her hat., In a second the thing had spread like wildfire and soon not a hat was to be seen in the church.
