More Than a Thousand Names On Petition.
It has proven an easy matter in this county to get the names of citizens asking the commissioners to call an election to settle the saloon question. Chairman S. C. IrwJn and Secretary Geo. H. Clarke, of the county organization, have counted the names on the petitions and find that there are 1,037 names and that several petitions are still out Seven hundred and twenty five were all that were needed to secure the election order. The special election will cost probably S7OO, and a.special session of the county council has been .called for next Tuesday toxmake the appropriation for the same. It will be money well spent if it settles the saloon question. The election will come at a busy time for farmers, but It is the plan to call.it on Saturday, when most, of the farmers take at least a part of the day off. Whenever it is called time should be taken to vote. It won’t take long and the citizen owes it to humanity. It is not probable that there are many who z will be careless or negligent in the matter.
