Miss Leathe Wright returned yesterday from New Mexico, haying completed the school term at the mining camp where she has taught for the. past two years. Her health is quite good, having improved since she left :here just after the holidays. Knapp returned this morning from Black Emails River, Wls., where he purchased a farm of 80 acres, a mile and three-fourths from that city, which is the county seat of Jackson county and a place of about 3,000 population. Mr. Knapp has no thought of moving there, but bought the farm because he thought it a bargain. Black River Falls has a telephone system with 530 city phones and 1,120 country phones, the city rental being $1 and the country rental $1.25 a month, and a full metallic service. The city also has two grain elevators, 2 feed, mills, 2 flouring mills, 8 rural routes, 2 newspapers and other businesses in proportion.
