Dickinson Trust Company Sells K. of P. Building.
The Knights of Pythias building, which has been owned by the Dickinson Trust Co., of Richmond, since the assignment after the building was erected, has been sold by them to Henry F. Meyer, of Chicago, and the transfer has I >en made at the recorder’s office. It is understood that the consideration was $17,000, and that the Dickinson company takes in trade other property to the amount of $9,500 and takes a mortgage back on the building for $7,500. The building could have been bought a year ago for about SII,OOO, but now that it is all occupied it is worth more money and is very reasonable at the price reported paid for it.
Mrs. A. E. Kirk and two children are spending today at Parr. Elizur Sage arrived home this morning and Mrs. Sage will return home next Monday. A. P. Sample, of Merrillan, Wis., arrived here this morning for a short visit Miss Minerva French, of Chicago, was the guest the first of the week of Miss Zelma Rayher. Mrs. J. F. Allman and daughter Florence and Aileen are spending today in Chicago. -
Born, Wednesday, March 21st, to Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Wells, of Marion township, a daughter. Mrs. Russell Wlllltts, of McCoysburg, the typhoid patient, is no better and the outcome of her sickness is very uncertain. ~ The Women’s Missionary Society of the Monticello Baptist district, is in session today at the First Baptist church, and is being attended by a number of delegates from out of town. B. W. Myers, of Monticello, was here this morning to see his father, L. H. Myers, who is tn very poor health, now being unable to leave the house most of the time. Mayor Edward Fogarty and Jeweler Frank Mays, of South Bend, accompanied W. R. Scudder of that city here today. Mr. Scudder Is president of the Hamilton Life Insurance Co., and has been spending considerable time here lately.
