Italian Makes Attempt On Roosevelt's Life.
A dispatch from London says that an attempt was made by a steerage passenger on the steamship Hamburg Monday to assaslnate Theodore Roosevelt. The man who made the attack was an Italian, and is believed to be insane. Guiseppe Tostl was the name of the man. The report now being published is that the former president was talking to his son when the Italian rushed up to them and cried out, “He let them take away my child, and now he shall pay for it.” Before he could come close to the former president several sailors seized him and placed him in irons. He has refused to eat, saying that Roosevelt intends to poison him.
