Only five more weeks of school. Mason Turner spent Sunday with relatives and friends here. Schools are all out in Gilboa township, Gilboa Center high school closing Tuesday. C' : Mrs. C. W. Merritt is spending a few days wlfh her parents kt Oxford, going over Friday. Don McGlynn, who has been working in Texas all winter, was seen on our streets again last week. James Leavel and family came kunady to visit his sister Mrs. Clyde Reeve and other relatives for a few days this week. Fanners is this vicinity are fairly started at oats sowing, although the weather has been such as to only permit work a half day at a time. Miss Ada Peck, Mr. and Mrs. Merritt, Mr. and Mrs. Reeve were among Remington’s visitors at Rensselaer Saturday and Sunday. Peter Roy, one of Remington’s old citizens, died at his home on the 23rd of March at the age of 70 years. Seven children are left to mourn their loss. Anna Monahan of south of town, died March 26, at 9 a. m., of that dread disease, tuberculosis. A mother and sister have already preceded her into the great beyond. All have died within the last two years and of the same disease. Funeral Sundey was one of the largest that there has' ever been in that part of the country. Supt, Breeze will begin his work as instructor in Geography and Physiology in the Indiana State Normal on May 27. Prof. Breeze has resigned the superintendence here, and we understand the present principal, Omer Burgess, has been selected for the place the ensuing year. We 1 regret to lose Mr. Breeze, who has held the position for the last four years very acceptably to all, but are glad since he must quit that Mr. Burgess will remain with us.
