Young Men’s Sunday School Class Holds a Banquet

There is considerable friendly rivalry at present between the men’s class taught by Rev. Clarke and the young men’s class taught by Frank Morrow, at the Christian Sunday school. The rivalry is for increase in membership, punctuality and per cent of attendance and also in the way of social entertainment. Some ten days ago the older class held an oyster supper for its members and friends in the church parlors. This week the boys went their sires and seniors one better and with the assistance M their mothers prepared a spread of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, olives, celery, coffee, etc. During the time that the 35 members and guests were seated at the table Miss Glenn Day played on the pipe organ. The evening was very pleasantly spent in games and social conversation and the boys rather think they have put one over on the older class. Some of the other classes are getting the spirit of growth and are making an effort to secure increased membership also.
