The Hop Pillow.
To woo sleep, says someone, you want to have a hop pillow. One can have green hop pillows, or get old ones, though the fresher ones are best. Another pillow that Is as soothing as a poppy bed is made of life everlasting. It is abloom now in pastureland and the odor will last for two or three years. Someone asked me how to make pine and fir pillows, but I frankly admit I do not know, though I imagine both are shredded as fine as possible and encased in ticking, afterwards covered with some neat cover, possibly a wash cover. It is the season when fragrant pillows can be niade. Milkweed is ripe now, and the little milk pods are filled with fluffy down splendid for filling soft chair cushions. Down pillows are not coarse feather pillows, but the soft down that is plucked from geese after the outside feathers are taken off. It is used for making pillows for the baby or invalid. Any pillow to be comfortable should not be heavily padded.
