First Movement Started For a County Election.
Rev. J. B. Paytop, pastor of the Methodist churches at Wheatfield, DeMotte, Tefft and other places In the Kankakee valley, was in the city today, Monday, to consult with temperance workers about holding a county election to settle the saloon question. Rev. Payton was surprised to find that there was no county temperance organization, but he found some people who were anxious to take the matter up and will be here again next week and confer with Rev. Kindig, .who Is now out of the city, and with others. In the mean time the blank forms are being printed and will be circulated asking the commissioners to set a date for holding a county election.
