Former Governor Durbin Republican State Chairman.

Plans are making for the election of a state chairman for the republican party and the name of Winfield T. Durbin, of Anderson, former governor is generally heard. Mr. Durbin is an astute politician, a clean man and a

wise one, and will make an ideal head for the republicans of the state, for he is trusted by every one. • Harry S. New, of Indianapolis, is also proposed for the place, but it is probable that if Durbin can be induced to accept it, he will be the better man.
