Representative Watson, who led the republican hosts In the recent state campaign, has received so many letters from members of the 'eg suture and others asking bis views in respect to the repeal of county local option that he has given out a statement for publication. “There ought to be no doubt as to my position,” said he. “I proclaimed myself in favor of county local option In more than 300 speeches which I delivered during the campaign. I was for county local option then, and I am for it now, not only because it was in the republican state platform, but because I believe H is right In my opinion it would be a great error for the republican senate to repeal this law, and I trust it will see its way clear not to do so.” ' When a petition was started for * local option election in Rush county Mr. Watson was the first to sign it. had hie has Shown by word and act since the election that he meant what he said during the campaign.
