WINTER IN MARCH ACCORDING TO HICKS
Dismal Forecast for Cold Waves, Raid, Sleet and Snow is Given. ■ '■''tf' . > ■ Rev. Irl Hicks, as usual takes a gloomy view of March and promises us more horrible • weather. The.forecast of the preacher prophet is as follows: dl' 1 A reactionary storm period has its center on the 3rd, 4th and. sth. A continued spell, of. unsettled weather will most probably come ch, er from tt e close of February, but about the 4th ; to 6th, storm conditions qiU be quick-, ened and decided areas of. rain, sleet [ and »now will, spread progressively from west to east across the country. Look f<?r high barometer and cold wayq. close on. the heels of storms of this period. Don’t be surprised if | blizzards sweep the north and west, not far from the 4th, sth and 6th. ! The 4th to the 9th, ah» constitutes •a decided seismic period, having its center on the 6th. There will be quickened volcanic activity with seis-' mic shakes in many parts, of the earth j at this and a. later period, in March. ' Loyr barometer and electrical storms , will begin, in western parts by the 9th 1 and during' the, 10th to the 13th storms i of marked force will be natural in most parts of the country, ’moving of. course, in regular order from west to east High barometer and blzzardous gales from the noithwe t will wind up this period, bringing change to much colder to most parts of the counry. Thq character of the storms and I weather at this time is problematical, as. thq Mars influence will begin to dominate the elements, and it cannot be positively foreseen which way its influencse will turn. In any event the storm days will show an excess of . rain, thunder and wind, or of snow and boreal winds, will be of very decided character. We believe that, the latter will prevail and that M- rs ! I influence about this time will set a | winter pace which will cheracteiire the weather generally for April. A phenominally low barometer, great humidity and high temperatuie will be a warning of violent stoims, anywhere from Friday, the 19th, to .Tuesday the 23d, notably on Sunday, I Monday and Tuesday, tie 21st, 22d, ; and period will first bring sonns of vic-' ipus lightning and tiupdtr, high winejs and possible tpmadoes to the southward, all followed by furi us from the northwest, with blockading blizzards and drifts of snow. This period, 19th to 23rd, constitutes the most marked seii mic period cf t£e month. If a decided wintry aspect doesn’t attend and follow the storms of this period, the'remainder the Mars period will probably bring weather of a warner type. Whatever is at this time, will foreshadow in a large dgeree what may be expected far into April. There will be constant tendency to storms and unsettled weather all through the latter part of March. I But the barometer will show decided . storm conditions about tie 27th to I 29th, and storms of rain, turn ng to I spow in northern parte, will march eastward Qvsr the countiy.
