Kankakee Company Incorporated.
The Indiana and Illinois Navigation and Power Company, formed in Chicago a few days ago for the purpose of improving the Kankakee river with aid of an appropriation from the national congress, filed articles of incorporation 'with the secretary of state of Indiana Monday. Francis M. Trissal, of Chicago, who placed the articles on file, is one of the directors of the company. Trissal is a former Indiana man. The other di-j rectors are Dixon W. Place, South Bend; Lew Small and Wayne rs., Dyer, Kankakee, lU4 William W. Parrish, Jr., Momence, HL; John Tulley, L. R. Williams, Chicago, Ill.; 1 Jacob Kellar, A. X Brunell, North Judson, and Charles H. Peteis, Knox. The articles say: “This corporation is formed for the purpose of improving the navigation, of the Kankakee river and for the-creation cf hydraulic power, thereon, not impeding navigation. The contemplated improvement of the river shall extend its entire length through the ju’ ladiction of the state of Indiana from its source in St. Joseph county through and bordering the counties of St Joseph, Starke, Larporte, Porter, Jasper, Newton and Lake to the line dividing the states of Indiana a.nd Illinois and then continuing and extending such improvement along the route of the river through the counties of Kankakee and Will Into the county of Grundy to the point where its waters become the source of the Illinois River.” —Indianapolis Star.
