High School.

The R. H. S. History Club met at the Library Auditorium, Thursday evening, February 26. All Juniors and Seniors who were not members were invited to the meeting. The following program was rendered: "I Call to Order - President Minutes and Roll Call -, Secretary 1 Recitation - Myrtle Yori| Life of Lincoln - - SupL Warren The Atlantic Cable - Nell Meyers Recitation - Madle Drake Music ----- jane Moody Lantern Slides. After burning out several fuses the stereoptlcan was finally put into work ing order and the jokes on tee slides afforded a great deal of amusement Refreshments were served and little red paper hatchets were given as favors in honor of Washington’s birthday, which occurred this month. The entertainment committee was Miss Work, Edna Hauter,, Dorotha Hollingsworth and Merle Porter. Friday, for which Miss Perry was longing, finally came. We wanted to remind you “lest you forget.” The grade teachers are sure they won’t forget The Latin classes have all been making good progress. The Virgil class has begun Book V, of the Aeneid, and the Cicero class the Pro Archia. The Senior Gehnan pupils are now reading “Das Fahnlein der sieben Anfrechten.” They also learned to write German script last week, and as a beginning reproduced the story of “Dertrene Johannes.” Harry Morehouse has developed Into quite a dictionary. He said Johnson was a “procrastinator” and knew what it meant, too.
