Farewell Surprise to R. B. Porter’s Family.

Wednesday evening, after prayer meeting, the members of the Baptist church Bdrprlsed Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Porter and family. Rev. Miller and wife had previously arranged to spend a few moments with them at that hour, so, while visiting, without warning, about sixty members of the church came into their beautiful home, and to say the least they were surprised. Refreshments of fruit and candy were served. A beautiful souvenir 1 spoon, with the church 1 outline engraved upon it, was presented to the family by the church. It is the deepest regret of Mr. and Mrs. Porter and family to leave their church affiliations here. The was made that this would always be home to them, -even as they will look*Upon Rensse-laer-And places near as- home, though they b may become Imembers of another church. Three tiheers were given l for Mr. Potter because he -kindly andhoapitably invited all to surprise them in South Dakota, even as here. Perhaps no where will these dear pie be missed more thaq In ttjJ Church. It is hdpbd and' known that' they will be a blessing wherever thgy go ♦ •
